XcooBee has launched what it calls the Universal Authority Complaint tool, a service that helps firms and consumers navigate the GDPR complaint process.
Filing instructions differ between jurisdictions, and some authorities offer no direct email contact, the firm says.
"Should a user complete the filing task, he or she would then need to figure out how to track progress," states XcooBee founder Bilal Soylu. But complainants can now register complaints with a few clicks, Soylu adds.
The tool can track complaints “with most EU GDPR supervisory agencies,” providing a benefit to both companies and consumers, Soylu adds.
Soylu continues: "Though GDPR was supposed to lift individual privacy out of the cellar into the sunlight, there are large gaps that need to be overcome, mostly in privacy tooling for everyday people."
