WPP is expected to announce a Kantar transaction as early as this week, sources confirmed following earlier reports today.
Bain will acquire around 60% of the research unit, which is valued at around $4 billion. That will leave WPP with a sizeable 40% (give or take) minority stake.
Last week the holding company confirmed that it had entered into exclusive talks with Bain about a deal for Kantar. The sale is part of a WPP strategy to shed non-core assets.
