Pampers Launching Smart Diaper System

Pampers is introducing a connected system to track when a baby’s diaper is wet.

The Lumi by Pampers Connected Care System from the Procter & Gamble company combines a video monitor with an activity sensor placed on the baby’s diaper.

The system, developed with Logitech and Verily, tracks sleep patterns, sleep routines, feeding and diapering, providing the information via mobile app.

The activity sensor tracks wet diapers and identifies in real time when a diaper needs to be changed.

The waiting list for the smart diaper system is for the U.S. only. Pricing was not provided.

Holy Crap!  I think we have scraped the bottom on tech progress.
My Gosh, you  can't get the phone out these new parents hands and now the diaper?
Why stop here, have it self changing.   PLUS,  you carry this over to feminine hygiene products and for us old geezers sitting at pickle ball court, our phone goes off  with a toilet flush sounder and tells us we just crapped our pants.  Can't wait.

Truly designed for the helicopter parent.  When we were young parents, we used the cloth diapers.  We knew it was time to change the diaper by putting the baby on the scale, and if it was 4 pounds heavier , it was time to change.

I could see this being very useful for an adult or elderly person who is disabled, a way for caretakers to prioritize who needs to be checked, and for what. This could be very useful tech in the healthcare sector.
