WPP research division Kantar is expanding its Washington, D.C. operation with what it's calling the “integration” of D.C. research firm InterMedia into its Public division.
InterMedia is a global research consultancy that partners with “mission-driven” organizations to help them understand, engage and positively impact the societies in which they work and
live.
The integration is not an M&A deal where money is changing hands, according to Kantar.
As a rep explains: “Kantar did not acquire InterMedia through purchase, but the
team and their contracts have been integrated into our D.C. office and team. We are delighted that InterMedia team is joining as Kantar, and all will work under the Kantar banner.”
The
rep added that “our understanding is the InterMedia Board will dissolve InterMedia later this year.”
Of the move, global CEO of Kantar’s Public Division Dr. Michelle Harrison
stated: “The Public division of Kantar provides a natural home for InterMedia and its team of experts. We know their reputation and experience from working alongside them in Washington, Africa
and South Asia. Their expertise will strengthen our capabilities in the design, implementation and impact evaluation of programs and policies.”
