WPP has appointed Jasmine Whitbread to its board as a non-executive director, effective September 1.

Whitbread is CEO of the trade group London First, which identifies challenges and solutions facing the city.

Earlier, she was international CEO, Save The Children.

Whitbread also serves as non-executive board member at financial services firm Standard Chartered and telecom giant BT Group.

She will serve on the WPP board’s compensation committee.
