Gmail was hit with serious outages in parts of the U.S. on Monday.

The problems began at 10:13 EDT, and appeared to peak around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Downdetector reports that 94% of the complaints it is receiving are related to log-ins.

Service apparently has been restored for some — but not all — users. 

Google acknowledged in a service update that affected users are "unable to access Gmail. Users may experience issues signing into all Google services via OAuth or Chrome devices,” according to Mashable. 

Late Monday afternoon, one user wrote on downdetector: "Problems receiving and sending messages. Login Ok."

Another wrote, however, that it was “not working.” 

Update: Problems apparently continued into Tuesday morning, with reports peaking around t 10 a.m. EDT, according to down detector. While less intense than it was on Monday, the outage is affecting the Northeast, Southern California, Texas and other areas.

One user writes: "My gmail is down," in a post put up at roughly 2:30 p.m. EDT on Tuesday. Another Tuesday post states: "Idaho/Montana Missing emails from archives and labeled emails gone. Nothing in sent folder but 1 email. My day is at a stand still as I am missing important emails that contain important info. Been this way since yesterday, who knows maybe longer since we came off the weekend."
