Rahul Subramany, Senior Product Manager at SimpliSafe, will speak on "The Secret Sauce: Consumer Feedback, Metrics, Rapid Implementation" on Sept. 18 at our Marketing:In App conference in New York. We caught up with him just the other day.

Q. What is the most important idea you hope attendees will take away from your presentation?

A. It's important to focus on providing maximum value to the end user — not on gaming a rating system. We believe that if you design your app to benefit the consumer, then you naturally achieve your overarching business objectives.

Q. What's next on your personal or professional agenda?

A. I just want to find more ways to help people by creating products that are great and easy to use — to keep people safe and keep the process simple.

Q. What keeps you up at night?

A. Our goal is to make every home secure. Unfortunately, some of the people without access to home security often need it the most, and that’s lower-income folks. I’m always trying to think about how we can make home security more affordable and accessible. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home.
