The Guardian is suggesting that an upcoming revamp of the BBC iPlayer amounts to the corporation realising the catch-up service is how most people will end up consuming BBC content in the
future. There is no date for the launch of the updated hub, but the paper believes the move is also an act of defence against Netflix and other streamers that are expanding their services.
