Tubi Launching Kids' Channel, Expanding To U.K.

Ad-supported video service Tubi announced it will launch Tubi Kids on Oct. 21.

In addition, the company plans to expand to the U.K. early next year.

The new kids’ section will offer a library of more than 1,200 kids’ movies and TV shows. It will roll out first in the U.S., on Roku devices, and then be expanded to other major streaming devices.

Competing AVOD service Roku launched its own kids’ section in August. Netflix and Hulu also offer libraries of kids’ content.

The U.K. launch marks the start of a ramped-up international expansion push — the first of several new territories for Tubi to be announced soon, Tubi CEO Farhad Massoudi said during a keynote at this week’s MIPCOM conference in Cannes, France.

According to Tubi, it streamed more than 132 million hours of content in September — up 40%, from 94 million hours, in May.

Its most recently added titles include the 13th season of “The Bachelorette” and movies “Megamind,” “No Country for Old Men” and the “Scary Movie” franchise.
