SoundHound, Deutsche Telekom Partner For AI Voice Devices

Deutsche Telekom is partnering with SoundHound to add its voice-enabled artificial intelligence agent Houndify to the telecommunications company’s products.

The Houndify voice AI platform is known for its speed in voice recognition and responses by understanding context, such as a user’s location or previous queries, to support more natural voice interactions.

“SoundHound provides us with a customizable voice solution, allowing us to reach our audience in a wholly unique way," stated Omar Tazi, senior vice president of group innovation, products and customer experience at Deutsche Telekom.

The Houndify platform is already available  in cars from Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Peugeot, Citroen and Opel, IoT platforms from Samsung, speakers from Onkyo and phones from Motorola.

SoundHound has raised $100 million and has backing from investors including Samsung, Daimler, Hyundai, Tencent Holdings, HTC, Line, Nomura and Japan Nipponkoa.
