Barstool Sports Launches OTT Channels

Barstool Sports has created over-the-top TV streaming channels, created by app development and content distribution company MAZ.

Barstool Sports' video-on-demand content is now available on Roku, FireTV and AndroidTV.

Channels were created for Barstool Sports, the company’s flagship brand, as well as Barstool Bets, its new sports gambling destination.

“We have always had an audience with an insatiable appetite for long-form video. As we continue to invest in great content and high-quality production, we’re making our shows available in the living room and on the big screen for our fans,” stated Deirdre Lester, Chief Revenue Officer at Barstool Sports

Barstool released apps for Apple TV earlier this year.

Publishers are increasingly making video content available on OTT channels to secure a wider distribution.

MAZ will work with Barstool Sports' internal production team throughout the development and maintenance of its OTT apps, according to the company.

MAZ works with other media companies, such as Bloomberg, Hearst, Condé Nast, USA Today and Outside TV, among others. It helps publishers process, curate, publish and monetize content across platforms like mobile, social media, TV and voice assistants.

The Chernin Group, the media investment and production company formed by former News Corp. COO Peter Chernin, owns a majority stake in Barstool Sports.
