Brita Lays Claim To Season's Ugliest Holiday Sweater

Brita claims to offer this holiday’s ugliest sweater because the item is made with single-use plastic bottles, underscoring the negative contribution these containers have on the environment.

Five In-house mcgarrybowen designers first blended traditional holiday kitsch designs, like snowflakes and sweet old grandma, with imagery of plastic waste and its impact on the environment.

The agency then worked closely with Knitwear Lab to produce five unique designs and 500 total sweaters. Each limited-edition sweater is made from 80% recycled materials, including 40% recycled plastic. There’s also a custom tag  that features Brita’s “Drink Like You Care” message.

Brita then worked with Amazon to create a custom storefront where the sweaters can be purchased. Each will be delivered in a specially designed, recycled box.
