A majority or retailers have deployed artificial intelligence and machine learning or plan to within the next 12 months, according to a new study by IHL Research.

In operation areas, 29% of retailers use AI with 23% more planning to within the next year.

For employee sales assistance, 11% of retailers are using AI with 19% planning to add it within the next 12 months.

For customer-facing areas, 13% of retailers have already deployed AI, with 20% planning to.

Nearly half (40%) of human resources departments use AI or plan to within the next 12 months.
