Mercedes-Benz Expands Subscription Service Offerings

Fresh on the heels of an announcement earlier this week by Nissan that it is trying out a subscription service in Houston, Mercedes-Benz is expanding its service to include a new tier of high-performance models.

Currently available only in Atlanta, the AMG-Exclusive tier provides car enthusiasts with access to the top echelon of the Mercedes-AMG product line.

Mercedes-Benz Collection subscribers can choose from nearly a dozen new Mercedes-AMG models, including sedans, coupés, roadsters and SUVs powered by AMG's signature V8 engines.

After receiving feedback from subscribers who had a chance to drive select Mercedes-AMG models in other tiers, it became clear there was significant demand to create the new tier, said Craig Walters, director, Mercedes-Benz subscription services USA LLC.

A collaboration between Mercedes-Benz USA LLC, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA LLC and Mercedes-Benz dealers, Mercedes-Benz Collection launched in June 2018 as a pilot program in Nashville and Philadelphia. The service is no longer offered in the Philadelphia market,  but Atlanta was added in June 2019.

There are three other tiers currently in the program -- Signature, Reserve and Premier -- with prices ranging from $1,095 to $2,995 per month. The AMG-Exclusive tier is being introduced at $3,595 per month. Subscribers pay a one-time activation fee of $495.

Mercedes-Benz Collection allows subscribers to switch between different types of vehicles, with  more than 60 model variants. The monthly subscription fee also includes insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance, vehicle maintenance -- and no mileage limitations.
