Publicis Groupe Accelerates Marcel Rollout Schedule

Publicis Groupe is accelerating the rollout of its internal AI-driven communications platform Marcel, starting in the U.S. next week. The platform will be rolled out globally by the end of April.

The global rollout was previously planned for the second half of the year.

“It won’t be perfect. There will be some bugs, but it will unite us at a time when we need this the most,” said Arthur Sadoun, CEO/Chairman, Publicis Groupe. He made the remarks during a video Sunday to update employees on the company’s ongoing response to the pandemic.

The Groupe will introduce the version currently being piloted in the UK, boosted by additional COVID-19-related content.

In addition, following last week’s announcement that the Groupe was ceasing freelance contracts, Publicis will use Marcel to exclusively publish available job openings or short-term projects known internally as “gigs.”

In Sunday's update, Sadoun reported that dozens of staffers have accepted the Groupe’s offer to pay for their travel to their homes if they are posted in other regions. This week, Publicis will initiate a series of partnerships to further support employee well-being, starting with meditation provider Headspace in the U.S.

Sadoun’s next Q&A session with the company’s top 3,000 global managers will concentrate on how to best help clients adapt to the current crisis, as well as ensure they are well-positioned for the future.

“Every day, it is clear it has never been more important to be on their side.” There is no doubt now that the world will not come back as it was, but “we need to act differently with them today and tomorrow and we must begin immediately,” he noted.
