Episerver Acquires Optimizely In Bid To Drive 'Experimentation'

Digital experience platform Episerver has acquired Optimizely, a firm that it claims will facilitate testing and help it deliver evidence-based outcomes online. Terms were not disclosed. 

The deal combines Episerver's digital experience capabilities with Optimizely's ability to experiment across touchpoints, and is a transformative one, Episerver says. 

Alex Atzberger, CEO of Episerver, argues that there are no extraordinary experiences without experimentation." 

Atzberger hopes that this merger will “make experimentation a mainstream business” and an essential best practice. 

Optimizely says it has over 1,000 clients, including such brands as Peloton, Nike and Uber.
