Amazon Expands NFL Streaming With 2021 Wild Card Game Rights

Amazon Prime Video has secured streaming rights to one of two new National Football League postseason Wild Card playoff games to launch in January 2021.

Amazon will stream the game live as it is also broadcast by CBS and Nickelodeon.

The deal was announced to NFL team owners on Wednesday, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Amazon already streams 11 NFL “Thursday Night Football” games through a three-season renewal deal inked this past April.

The regular-season deal is worth at least $75 million per year, and Amazon paid “significantly” more on a per-game basis for the January 10 Wild Card game rights, according to WSJ sources.

CBS Sports paid about $70 million for its rights to the same game, which reportedly also includes the right to stream it on CBS Sports’ online platform.

NBC Sports bought the rights to the second new Wild Card game — including rights to stream it on Peacock — for $75 million.
