Framestore, in partnership with Aleph Capital and Crestview Partners, is acquiring Company 3 / Method (C3M) to scale and deepen its production shop services.
This deal now creates the only
global creative services studio working across every part of the creative and production process, claims William Sargent, co-founder and CEO of Framestore.
C3M encompasses a number of studios
in addition Company 3 and Method, including Encore, and Stereo D, based across eleven cities in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia and India.
Led by Stefan Sonnenfeld, the company partners with
directors, studios, advertising agencies and streaming platforms for production and post-production work.
Framestore, headquartered in London with creative studios in Los Angeles, New York,
Chicago, Montréal and Mumbai, is more well-known in the industry through its work on box office hits such as “Avengers End Game” and “Blade Runner 2049.”
Sargent
said he approached Company 3’s founder and C3M president, Stefan Sonnenfeld with the belief the two sides would be a powerful combination. “Our vision for the future of our industry is
storytelling across all the media of content delivery - from mobile to IMAX; and headset to theme parks,” says Sargent. “Stories originated in one medium need to be able to travel across
all of these and be adapted creatively and technically for each.”
