New Ad Condemns Republicans For Letting Trump Off The Hook

The Lincoln Project has issued a withering new ad condemning Republican lawmakers for letting Trump get away with treason.

The spot was released today just hours after House Impeachment Managers filed a brief with the Senate charging Trump with being “singularly responsible” for the assault on the U.S. Capitol on January 6 by a right-wing mob.

The new LP ad states that when Trump “unleashed” the mob responsible for the assault, “Republican senators did what they always do: hid.”

“As Trump’s bloodthirsty army screamed ‘Hang Mike Pence,’ these senators were muted in fear,” as images of Mitch McConnell and others flash across the screen.

The ad shows images of other diehard Trump supporters, including Senators Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rand Paul (R-Kentucky).

“They knew who ordered the assault and they stayed silent, just like always,” the narrator adds. “Serve him, obey him, bow down to him, just like always.”

Separately, The New York Timesreported that the Democratic Congressional Campaign launched a $500,000 TV and digital ad campaign tying a number of Republicans, including House minority leader Kevin McCarthy, to Marjorie Taylor Greene, the nutcase representative from Georgia who has allegedly supported statements from extremists that certain Democrats should be executed and that a number of mass school shootings, like Parkland, didn’t really happen.

Even McConnell has condemned her as a “cancer” on the Republican Party. The idea behind the ad campaign is to force House Republicans to repudiate Greene publicly.

If only the Democratic Party had 1/4th of the balls of the Lincoln Project... sigh...
