IPG Reveals New Climate Action Plan

Interpublic Group announced a new climate plan today as part of its broader ESG commitment. 

The three-pronged plan include includes a commitment to sourcing 100% renewable electricity by 2030 across the holding company’s portfolio of subsidiaries. 

It has also committed to set an emissions reduction target in line with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius through the Science Base Targets initiative. 

IPG has also committed to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2040 and has joined the Climate Pledge, co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism, whose members have made the same commitment. 

IPG CEO Philippe Krakowsky stated that the commitments “represent a significant move forward in terms of assessing and reducing our carbon commitment.” 

Like other company’s the firm is taking other steps to reduce its negative impact on environment like reassessing travel policies, renovating office space to be more energy efficient and mandating responsible consumption in the workplace. 

The company also said that it has published its first Sustainability Accounting Standards Board report.
