Netflix To Hype Fall Lineup With 1st Livestreamed Global Fan Event

Netflix is pumping up promotion as fall and the holiday season approach, signaling more time indoors consuming video.

Just a day after trumpeting its plan to release 42 new movies and documentaries in the four months remaining in 2021, the world’s largest subscription video-on-demand service has announced its first online global fan event to promote those offerings and other new content.

Dubbed “TUDUM” – a reference to the beat viewers hear when a show or movie begins on Netflix — the three-hour livestream will offer first looks, trailers and clips during interactive panels and conversations with the creators and stars.

More than 70 shows and movies will be highlighted, including Netflix’s most popular returning series (“Bridgerton,” “Stranger Things,” “The Witcher” and “La Casa De Papel,” among others), and big-budget, intended blockbuster movies including “Red Notice,” “Don’t Look Up,” and “The Harder They Fall.”

The event will be broadcast on Netflix’s YouTube channels worldwide, Twitter and Twitch on September 25, starting at noon EST.

Pre-shows focused on Korean and Indian series and films and anime content will start at 8 am EST.

Facebook, YouTube and Twitch users will be able to co-stream and react to the event in real time.
