GroupM media agency Essence has launched in France, the shop confirmed Monday.
Essence France, based in Paris, will work with sibling GroupM media agencies in the country (including Wavemaker and Mindshare) contributing its technology, data science expertise, and e-commerce know-how.
Essence France, whose clients include Google, will be managed by Guillaume de La Fléchère, who will remain CEO of Neo MediaWorld, a digital transformation specialist within Mindshare. Essence is currently building its staff in France and is recruiting client leads, strategic planners, content strategists, and digital platform experts.
Tim Irwin, CEO Essence EMEA explained the expansion this way: “French advertisers are currently combining programmatic buying with first-party data and are looking for technology partners and very strong consultancy expertise to maximize these new opportunities. We believe the time is right to enter this market, which is increasingly data and technology driven, two of our strongest areas of expertise.”
Added Irwin, “We want to bring even more local expertise to our existing clients to increase the power of our global model, support the digital transformation of our future partners and contribute to the growth of the advertising market in France.”
