Newsmax And Rupert Murdoch (For Birthday Party) Mandate COVID Vaccinations, Tests

Regardless of some of their news hosts’ ongoing attacks against mandatory COVID-19 vaccines, both Newsmax and Fox Corporation Chairman Rupert Murdoch have imposed their own mandates.

Newsmax sent an internal email on Nov. 4 stating that all employees must be fully vaccinated by Jan. 4, 2022, or undergo weekly COVID tests, according to Mediaite.

The network cited the new COVID vaccination rule from the U.S. Labor Department, to be enforced by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), that sets that requirement for companies with at least 100 employees, and establishes the Jan. 4 deadline.

(Subsequently, on Nov. 6, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit stayed implementation of the rule, citing statutory and constitutional issues. The Labor Department has said it is confident it has the legal authority to promulgate the rule, and that it will prevail in court.)

Meanwhile, for his 90th birthday party at Tavern on the Green in New York City last week, Rupert Murdoch required that guests not only show proof of vaccination, but also take a rapid nose-swab test to enter, reported Politico.

That’s in keeping with Fox Corporation’s requirement that all employees either be vaccinated or submit to daily testing, which has reportedly resulted in a 90% vaccination rate at the company.

This is a good example of the hypocrisy of the conservative media. They show complete disdain for the intelligence and gullibility of their target audience by encouraging opposition to vaccines and masks, often with misinformation. However, they know and practice what is best for themselves personally.
