WPP has acquired Cloud Commerce Group (CCG), a UK-based technology company that helps brands market, sell and deliver their products across ecommerce platforms and marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Wayfair. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
CCG employs over 100 people across Europe. The company will join the Wunderman Thompson global network as part of its commerce and technology operation.
WPP said the acquisition reflects ongoing investment in its commerce offering as part of its new and more focused M&A strategy to bolster capabilities in commerce, technology and consumer experience.
CCG supports hundreds of European retailers and wholesalers, helping to move over $1.3 billion in revenue transacting through its platform annually, according to WPP CEO Mark Read. The software platform helps brands maneuver across the entire commerce space connecting customer acquisition and multi-platform commerce, with warehousing, inventory, and fulfilment partners. CCG’s solution also integrates with multiple accounting systems, payment gateways and fulfilment partners.
