households between its Wednesday, Dec. 22 debut through its opening weekend Sunday night, ranking it as one of the highest-rated films to stream as part of Warner Bros. same-day streaming strategy on
HBO Max and in theaters, according to estimates provided by Samba TV.
“The Matrix” sequel ranks tied for third with “The Suicide Squad” (2.8 million opening
weekend), behind fourth behind “Mortal Kombat” (3.8 million) and “Godzilla vs. Kong” (3.6 million).
