Squarespace Is Back For Eighth Super Bowl

Squarespace is back for an eighth Super Bowl with a spot starring actress Zendaya and narrated by rapper André "3000" Benjamin.

The brand has a history of using celebrities in its Big Game efforts. Squarespace featured actress Winona Ryder in its 2020 spot, Keanu Reeves in 2018 and John Malkuvich in 2017.

This year, Zendaya plays Sally, an entrepreneur who grows her seashell-selling business with the help of the website builder and ecommerce platform.

Inspired by the classic tongue twister “Sally Sells Seashells,” the ad marks the first Super Bowl campaign produced by Squarespace’s in-house creative team in Los Angeles.

Sally transforms her business from selling seashells to seaside tours, serenity sessions and more, riffing on Squarespace’s “Everything to Sell Anything” tagline as “Everything to Shell Anything” to highlight how entrepreneurs can use the platform’s all-in-one tools to sell any type of product online.

The 30-second spot, which is directed by Edgar Wright ("Baby Driver," "Last Night in Soho"), will air during the first quarter.

The effort aims to inspire the entrepreneurial spirit of creators that are selling the things they're passionate about, says Anthony Casalena, founder and chief executive officer of Squarespace.

“We aim to give them all the tools they need to grow a thriving online business,” Casalena says in a release.
