Initial subscribers of CNN+, the forthcoming premium news streaming
service that will start up later this year, will get a price of $2.99 a month -- as long as customers maintain a CNN+ subscription.
After the CNN+ four-week launch promotion ends, the
price for the WarnerMedia streaming news service will be $5.99 -- the same price Fox Nation has been charging its subscribers for the streaming news service, which launched in 2018.
CNN also has plans for a CNN app. Subscribers would also need to subscribe to CNN+ to get the app, which would then give them access to CNN+ programming. Existing pay TV
subscribers -- who already get the live, linear CNN TV network -- can also access the linear, live CNN network feed via internet streaming.
The app will also include CNN’s linear
TV feeds such as CNN International, HLN and CNN en Español channels, which will be available exclusively for pay TV subscribers.

According to the Los Angeles
Times, which initially reported the story on CNN+ pricing, the premium news streaming service could offer a cheaper advertising-supported option to be bundled with another WarnerMedia streamer,
HBO Max.
CNN representatives did not respond to Television News Daily inquiries by press time.
CNN+ is expected to launch near to the time period
when Discovery Inc. closes its deal to acquire WarnerMedia.
Chris Licht, producer of CBS' "Late Show With Stephen Colbert," will be chairman and CEO of CNN Global, starting in
May.
Licht will replace former Jeff Zucker, who resigned last month due to his disclosure of a relationship with Allison Gollust, executive vice president and chief marketing
officer at CNN, who then subsequently also departed.
