Email technology firm Campaign Monitor has added SMS capabilities to its platform in an expansion of its channel offerings, the company announced on Wednesday.
With email and SMS working together, brands can “reach their audience across multiple touchpoints and drive further engagement,” states Desta Price, chief product officer at CM Group.
Price calls this “the first step towards broadening and enhancing the marketing tools we offer.”
A recent study by company parent CM Group found that U.S. adults ranked email and text messaging as the top two most preferred communication channels for engaging with brands.
The new SMS tool has the same workflow as email.
In December 2021, Campaign Monitor redesigned its email platform, making it easier to send emails, the company said.
The new elements included a streamlined campaign creation process and an assistant that can help identify errors and keep track of necessary approvals, and a design feature that can assist the user in finding the right email template.
As part of that feature, Campaign Monitor also provides smart recommendations to optimize campaigns on auto-pilot, recommending subject lines and lists to use based on prior campaign activity.
