Omnicom Group said today it was expanding its ecommerce
capabilities with a new practice called Transact, that will focus on connected-commerce consulting and eRetail execution services.
The new unit is designed in part to optimize partnerships
with Amazon, Instacart, Kroger and Walmart Connect that were announced earlier this year.
Leading Transact
is Frank Kochenash, who joined Omnicom in March as CEO, ecommerce. He’s a former executive at Amazon, McKinsey and also served as president of Wunderman Thompson Commerce.

Kochenash
indicated that part of the mission is to coordinate client ecommerce activities with their overall marketing and sales objectives, enabling “multiplatform and retail success.”
Transact’s services include retail media and analytics, catalog management, content optimization, as well as account management and operations. Those services will be powered and connected by
OmniCommerce, part of the holding company’s demand-side data operating system Omni.
“eCommerce and eRetail are at the center of our clients’ growth and transformation
agendas,” said Omnicom Group CEO John Wren. “In scaling Transact, we are strengthening our leading capabilities for our clients, helping them convert every consumer touchpoint into a new
opportunity for growth.”
