Online betting is big business — and the new spot for JACK Entertainment highlights its ease.
Sports betting app betJACK is positioned as the go-to option for Ohio sports fans. That’s the focus of the "Baller" ad from the Fusion92 agency, hired to launch the endeavor. Or as the spot explains: "Built in Ohio, for Ohio."
Since Jan. 1, both online and retail sports betting outlets are accepting wagers from Ohioans.
This is the first spot in the client’s ongoing campaign, which runs regionally across broadcast TV and social networks. JACK Entertainment is hoping to capitalize on relaxed betting rules in the state to build a customer base.
The spot centers on Ohio’s contribution to sports, noting: “Ohio has given us some of the greatest athletes in history, and while that might not be you… you can even the odds at betJACK.”
In the “Baller” spot, directed by Mark Hoffman for Blacksheep Films, a basketball rolls into a park. A guy puts down his doughnut, picks up the ball and shoots. The result underscores why some people are meant to play — and others are better off playing the odds.
Fusion92’s client work includes Redbox, Buddig, H&R Block and Rivers Casino.
More than 30 U.S. states and jurisdictions now authorize or allow some form of legal sports betting.
