Intuit Mailchimp has
joined the GPT wave with an AI-driven platform for creating email marketing content.
The new offering, Email Content Generator, is now available to U.S. clients with standard and
premium plans.
The goal is to help clients create content that is "optimized for their brand, their marketing channels, their objectives, and every member of their audience,” says
Rania Succar, CEO at Mailchimp.
Mailchimp uses a mix of in-house built models and third-party products to power its AI tools.
The company brought AI technology into
its email marketing platform with acquisitions of Sawa in 2019 and Inspector 6 in 2020. And it became part of Intuit’s AI-driven platform after being acquired by that firm in
2021.
Intuit -- which provides personal finance products including TurboTax and QuickBooks -- has been accelerating personalized AI at scale for more than 100 million consumer and small
business customers, fueling 58 billion machine-learning predictions per day and 730 million AI-driven customer help interactions.
Users of Email Content Generator can see three copy options
that match their industry, marketing intent and tone of voice, the firm says.
For instance, they can give a natural prompt like “write an email about our new product launch and
offer 15% off orders today only.”
Email Content Generator will provide three options that are more targeted to that goal, and marketers can select the one that works best and drag and
drop it into their campaign, customizing as needed.
“AI and text generation tools like ChatGPT have received a lot of attention recently, and for good reason. We see this as a supportive
technology for marketers, and we want to provide them with approachable ways to use AI," the company says.
