Doner Relaunches Media Practice, Taps Agency Vet Villamil To Run It


Stagwell’s Doner Partners Network is launching a new integrated media offering, Doner Media. 

The new offering is being led by industry veteran Jennifer Villamil, most recently head of media at The Many.  

For Doner the new setup marks the agency’s return to an integrated creative/media offering. 



After being acquired by MDC Partners around a decade ago, Doner’s then media department was spun from the agency and into MDC’s media agency Assembly.  

That was 2015. In late 2019 MDC, then led by Mark Penn, formed a creative agency hub called the Doner Partners Network led by CEO David DeMuth. (MDC and Stagwell merged in 2021).  

In addition to Doner the hub brought together digital influencer marketing and PR offering Veritas, shopper marketing agency 6Degrees Integrated Communications; Yamamoto, a brand and advertising agency based in Minneapolis and Chicago and several other agencies.  

Now the hub has a media offering as well via the newly-created unit. Doner Media will provide media planning & buying, audience and communications planning, creative testing, optimization, and real-time reporting.  

“By re-launching our media practice, we can tap into our deep data resources and creative spirit to build more integrated and impactful work,” said DeMuth.  

In addition to The Many, Villamil, an 18-year agency veteran has served at Cramer-Krasselt and Publicis Groupe, where she developed award-winning go-to-market strategies for clients like P&G, Walmart, Allstate and Discover.  

Villamil will be supported by a leadership team including Kent Weaver, senior vice president/Head of Integrated Media Strategy, and a longtime Starcom executive with expertise in CPG, retail, healthcare and technology.  

Also part of the leadership team: Mark Aguinaldo, SVP, Head of Data and Analytics, who joins from AbbVie and Epsilon, with experience on global campaigns in automotive, retail, pharma, telecom, B2B, banking and others; Jennifer Schulties, SVP, Head of Activation who joins from Assembly Global and brings experience in digital, experiential and B2B.
