Meta Pushes For Creator Success On Facebook With New Reels, Analytics, Ad Features

On Wednesday, Meta unveiled a slew of Facebook updates targeted toward creators and brands, including new Reels templates and editing options, a daily checklist, performance insights, expanded metrics, multi-platform posting ability and more.

First, Meta is launching a new “Inspiration Hub” for Reels––its fastest-growing content format––in the Professional Dashboard. There, creators will be able to see current reels trends, the most popular hashtags, topics and music, Meta says.

In addition, the social giant is adding a new “Templates Hub” in Reels Composer, which will display “popular, trending and quality templates” creators can use to make their own reels, as well as new reels editing capabilities.

“We’ve brought together audio, music and text into a unified editing screen,” Meta wrote in a blog post, adding that these new mobile features aim to help creators layer and time various creative elements of their reel as they want them to appear.

To help creators expand their Facebook presence, Meta is also updating its Professional Account prompts to allow ProMode users to personalize their profile by adding website and social media links. Creators can also utilize a daily checklist that includes tips and guided actions aimed at helping grow a following.

ProMode creators will appear in a “Creators to Follow” unit on Feed to be seen by more Facebook users as well, while also being able to use ads to boost their reels.

Meta added that in the coming week it will be rolling out new Professional Dashboard metrics focused on creator performance at a granular level, “including levels of interaction and consumption by format, as well as by followers and non-followers across all of their content.”

Creators will also be able to see how many followers they gained and lost in a specific time frame.

In addition, Meta has announced upcoming creator monetization opportunities on Facebook, including the ability to “cross-post” Instagram branded content reels and stories to Facebook, increasing the likelihood of a post’s reach and awareness.

In order to better scale collaborations, the company says that cross-posted content will show the creator and tagged business partner’s linked Facebook handles alongside the Paid Partnership label.

“On Facebook, we’ve also reduced partnership ads eligibility requirements, so that creators on Pages can give their brand partners permission to run ads from their Facebook page,” Meta explains.

The Performance Bonus Program is being expanded as well, inviting more creators to take part in Facebook’s Reels revenue sharing opportunity. Creators will also see a new post-level bonus earnings insight on mobile devices that shows how their posts are performing.

Similar to YouTube’s recent creator eligibility changes, monetization eligibility requirements for the Facebook streaming monetization feature Stars are being lowered, inviting creators with 500 followers over the past 30 days to take part, compared to the previous 1,000 followers over 60 days requirement.

Finally, building off of its recent updates to the Ads on Reels test, Meta says it will soon begin a limited test that invites select creators to monetize reels that include licensed music from the Facebook Audio Library.

“Eligible creators will be notified in-app,” the company says. “And we hope to roll out more broadly over time.”
