Hey Jane OOH Campaign Promotes Safe Abortions In Illinois

Once the Roe v. Wade decision was overturnedpro-choice activists shifted into high gear to protect women's health choices.

One organization, Hey Jane, is a virtual clinic offering safe and private abortion care from home. Services include FDA-approved abortion pills, plus medical support. Privacy is paramount.
To further that message, Hey Jane launched its first OOH in-house campaign, promoted in the tri-state area — Illinois, Indiana and Missouri — to highlight health care in Illinois.
The billboards are placed in Gary, Indiana, St. Louis, East St. Louis, and Lansing, Illinois.
Since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision in 2022, which denied a constitutional right to abortion, Hey Jane has recorded a 301% increase in patients in Illinois.
"Launching our first-ever billboard campaign for the one-year anniversary of the overturning of 'Roe v. Wade' is a testament to our commitment to ensuring basic health care during this pivotal moment," said Hey Jane CEO, Kiki Freedman.
"The impact that this decision [Dobbs] had — and continues to have — on people seeking abortion care is undeniable. We want to let people in bordering restrictive states know that they still have options when it comes to reproductive health care," she added.
Time is critical. long in-person appointment wait times. Illinois residents are facing long in-person appointment wait times — now at two and a half weeks post-Dobbs, up from four days pre-Dobbs.

As of June 30, the Indiana Supreme Court enacted a near-total abortion ban. Missouri prohibits all abortions except in cases of medical emergency.
