Samsung is touting significant viewership growth for its FAST service as part of its promotion of a new product update.
The smart TV maker said that viewership of its Samsung TV Plus FAST service, launched in 2015, grew 60% year-over-year during the past 12 months.
However, the company did not reveal actual viewership numbers. Instead, it reports that it now has more than 300 linear FAST channels in the U.S. and more than 2,400 globally, with reach in 24 countries and 535 million devices worldwide across smart TVs and mobile.
The 5.2 product update features a new homescreen and discoverability features, including a dedicated “Best of Kids” experience and a new dedicated music destination spanning more than 40 channels and 200 playlists.
