For the Fourth of July, Jones Soda didn’t just drape itself in the American flag. The craft soda brand partnered with a popular charity associated with the symbol.
Jones Soda released a new 12-item variety pack for the holiday, adorning it with red, white, and blue and the folded flag symbol for Folds of Honor, which provides educational resources to the families of fallen and disabled veterans and first responders. Jones Soda is donating 50% of sales for the holiday pack to the organization, which the brand says the beginning of a long-term partnership.
"With 91% of funds donated to Folds of Honor going directly to scholarships, these promotions mark the first steps in a long-term partnership that will help make a genuine difference in the life of every recipient," Jones Soda CEO David Knight said in a statement.

The pack includes Jones’ Strawberry Lime, Cream Soda and Berry Lemonade flavors to represent the colors of the flag. The brand is selling the variety pack on its website and guaranteed orders placed by June 25 would arrive for the holiday.
It’s also selling the variety pack on an ongoing basis going forward, with plans to expand to retail sales next year.
“Jones' decision to donate to our mission will not only enhance our ability to fund scholarships but also increase our visibility among consumers who purchase our co-branded products online or in retail stores,” Lt Col Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor said in a statement.
Later this summer, Jones is also extending its partnership with Folds of Honor to its Jones+ energy line, once again featuring co-branding with the charitable organization. The line, which touts 160 mg of caffeine per 16-ounce can, is available across Jones’ Green Apple, Berry Lemonade, MF Grape and Cola flavors – and is available across retail channels.
Folds of Honor has become something of a go-to charitable partner for consumer brands, with AB InBev’s Budweiser one notable longtime partner of the organization.
In other news from the company, Mary Jones -- its crossover brand of hemp derived THC-infused products -- is expanding its offerings with a new line of 2-ounce Mary Jones HD-9 Shooters. Available across retail channels including grocery stores, liquor stores, smoke and tobacco retailers, the shooters contain 10 mg of Hemp Delta-9 per serving and are available in Berry Lemonade, Green Apple, MF Grape, and Orange & Cream flavors.
