New female-founded creative agency Slim announced its official launch with inaugural clients Lyft, SoulCycle and Chomps.
The New York agency is the brainchild of ad vets Julie Liu, Jenny Read and Michele Kunken. The name implies smaller teams, bigger talent and fewer hierarchical layers.
The trio first met at KBS.
Slim said its adaptive hybrid model bridges the gap between in-house work and outsourcing. It's positioned as working closely within brand and marketing teams to produce the needed strategy, creative and production.
For example, it worked with Odele Beauty to debut its first national brand campaign, “Get Along With Your Hair,” while serving as the production arm for Babbel's internal creative team. For WildAid’s climate initiative, Slim’s “The Environment Excuse” campaign positioned the environment as the best excuse to do (or not do) anything.

Slim has various upcoming projects with Odele Beauty, including a brand book and new product launches for 2025.
“The Slim way is infinitely more efficient because ideas and budgets are aligned and working together in lock step. Everyone on the team, including the creators, makers, producers and brand marketers, is invested in the vision,” said Jenny Read, president/chief production officer.
Each principal brings over two decades of ad experience leading award-winning creative projects for brands such as Converse, Johnnie Walker, Monster, P&G, Target and Walmart. They collectively have agency experience at Arnold, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis, Wieden + Kennedy and Deutsch LA.
“We don’t do disposable — we build brands that endure,” said Michele Kunken, co-Chief Creative Officer.
