Virgin Hotels Goes Social, Pitches Year-Round Luxury


Virgin Hotels uses colorful spots to highlight its year-round options.

Joan Studios, part of Joan Creative, the brand's AOR, has created collage-style ads to remind consumers the holiday season isn't the only time to enjoy indulgences.

Fun, luxury travel is available any time of year.

Just launched, the spots, featuring one of eight cities that house a Virgin Hotel, run across social. The 15-second ads place viewers in the middle of a 3D advent calendar, offering a surprise behind the red door.

Cheri Anderson, managing director of Joan Studios, said the creative concept is “fun and in keeping with the wonderfully eccentric world of Virgin Hotels that we have always known."

Separately, in September, Joan London, the U.K. branch of Joan Creative, named four new senior hires. Rebecca Rowntree joined from Leo Burnett as creative director, while Thorbjørn Liljegren and Christine Jensen of Anomaly boarded as senior creatives. George Fox, former business director at adam&eveDDB, is a new business director.
