Vladimir Jones Pushes Eco-Message For Colorado Springs Utilities

Colorado-based agency Vladimir Jones uses cheeky humor in a new 30-second campaign for Colorado Springs Utilities.

The creative, which promotes an energy-conservation message, shows easy ways to improve energy habits. Unplugging electronics when not in use and not standing in front of an open fridge are simple ways to save electricity.

Colorado Springs’ mysterious Smallfoot legend, a play on Bigfoot, is posited as a tiny friendly creature helping the public. Finding this legend is up to Smallfoot tracker Hemingway Flynn.

The new ads provide education and support for customers in a thoughtful, accessible way.

The multichannel campaign runs on broadcast, CTV, radio, social, print and both animated and static digital.

Jim Morrissey, Vladimir Jones, executive creative director, told Out to Launch: "Persuading people to conserve energy has always been an uphill battle. So we had to persuade folks in a different way. Creating our own conspiracy theory gave us the runway to be educational, entertaining and ultimately persuasive."

Vladimir Jones' client work includes Tourism Santa Fe, Black Hills Energy and Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
