Google's Suzie Reider Joins Lyft

Lyft has hired former Google executive Suzie Reider as its executive vice president, Lyft Media and Lyft Business.

Reider, who starts Dec. 10 and reports to CEO David Risher, will be based in San Francisco. She has over 25 years of experience as a global strategic business leader, including 17 years at Google.

Her leadership roles at the tech giant include serving as the global chief revenue officer for Waze as well as founding YouTube’s revenue and marketing organization. She has run multibillion-dollar revenue across video, search, display, and location product lines, which is "key for the future growth of Lyft’s media and business teams," according to the rideshare company.

"I’ve been a loyal Lyft rider since 2012 and am beyond excited to work at a company that truly does good for the world,” Reider says in a statement. “Lyft’s work with Medicare and Medicaid to cover transportation to and from medical appointments in 26 states and Washington, D.C. is admirable, and I look forward to working with the Lyft team to advance this and other partnership initiatives.”

The media business is “really interesting as location signals are powerful and there is so much we can advance in experiential marketing,” she adds. “I am thoughtful about the full Lyft ecosystem (Riders, Drivers, and Partners) and can't wait to get to work on a media strategy that serves all constituents.”
