I Can See Clearly Now: Lexus, Revo Partner On Sunglass Line

What can a pair of sunglasses and a car have in common?

Quite a bit, according to luxury vehicle brand Lexus and eyewear company Revo, which are partnering on a collection of co-branded sunglasses.

The Revo | Lexus collection integrates Lexus-inspired design elements, including curated color palettes, carbon fiber inlays, and rubber accents, with Revo’s NASA-based lens technology.

The collection offers two sport styles developed in partnership with Lexus Racing and two lifestyle designs reflecting Lexus’ “understated luxury,” according to the brand.

On the sporty side, Podium has a square wrap style with  pop of color, while Double Stint has a “sleek unisex wrap style with Lexus Racing-inspired elements

On the lifestyle side, Crafted is a  unisex vintage-inspired square style with leather accents, while Spindle is in a navigator style.

“With inspiration from Lexus’ signature taillight to the iconic black and DayGlow yellow livery of the Vasser Sullivan Championship Racing Lexus RC F GT3 race cars, Lexus details are thoughtfully incorporated throughout this collection,” said Jeff Bal, Lexus Marketing, in a release.

The collection is currently available for purchase exclusively on Revo.com, priced at $239 to $279, and will move into more retail outlets, including specialty stores and golf and pro shops, this spring.

The companies are marketing the products through earned media, the Lexus dealer network and on-site at events and activations such as Lexus Performance Driving Schools and hospitality and corporate events. They’re also working with current Revo ambassadors and will be seeding to influencers who have partnered with both brands,  Kristin Durante, director of marketing at Revo, tells Marketing Daily.

It’s not the first time Lexus has branded products that don’t weigh 4,000 pounds. The Lexus Collection currently includes everything from fabric tote bags and umbrellas to boxes of cookies, and in years past the brand has partnered with companies like designer Karen Walker, with whom it presented a pair of sunglasses and a leather tote.
