Design platform Squarespace is back for
its 11th Super Bowl.
This time, the 30-second spot "A Tale As Old As Websites" features Barry Keoghan, best known as the abused young man in "The Banshees of Inisherin," the 2022 film starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.
The campaign was produced in-house by Squarespace's creative team, headed by David Lee, chief creative officer, and directed by Steve Rogers.
The spot airs between the first and second quarters of Super Bowl LIX.
Set in a bygone era in Ireland, the ad, which recreates the rural setting of "Banshees," notes how Squarespace's tools can be used anywhere, regardless of time or place. As Keoghan travels on his donkey, he passes out laptops to locals like newspapers, with their potential businesses featured.
"I'm a very proud Irish lad so bringing this campaign to life with Squarespace and shooting it against the beautiful backdrop of Ireland was incredible," said Keoghan. "Steve has done a brilliant job showcasing Squarespace in a very slick and cool narrative. It also gave me a chance to work with a donkey again!"

Post-game, the campaign includes additional shorts of Keoghan helping local businesses get online and the longer "Barry and Mosley" spot, in which Keogham creates a site for Don Mosley, his donkey co-star.
Lee add this year's commercial is "a celebration of Squarespace's legacy, blending humor and filmic storytelling to inspire anyone who's ever thought about bringing an idea to life online."
