TelevisaUnivision US Ad Revenues Up 2% In Q4, $1.8B For 2024

TelevisaUnivision eked out slight growth of 2% in U.S. advertising revenues for the fourth quarter of 2024 to $475.6 million -- largely attributable to sports and higher political advertising.

For the year, advertising was up 2% (to $1.8 billion) in the U.S. and 5% higher in Mexico (to $1.3 billion).

The company says U.S. political advertising in the big Presidential season took in $70 million.

The Spanish-language TV and media company’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) streaming business -- coming mostly from its ViX platform, now in its second full year of operation -- posted $1 billion in revenue and an operating profit. The company did not provide more specific details.

Subscription and licensing revenue -- from all D2C and linear TV business -- were up 3% to $1.3 million.

TelevisaUnivision also said there were declines in subscription/licensing revenue from linear TV platforms, but did not provide specific details.

Company-wide revenues for 2024 grew 3% to $5.1 billion (from $4.9 billion the previous year). Net losses for the company were trimmed to $666.7 million from $866.9 million the previous year.
