Digital dangers are a reality at schools.
To educate parents on how to protect their kids from harmful online interactions, Tech-Safe Learning Coalition (TLC) launched the “Classroom Danger”campaign.
The AI-generated
creative by Anchor Worldwide has a simple tagline: “If it's dangerous, it shouldn't be in the classroom.”
Aaron Sedlak, Chief Creative Officer of Anchor Worldwide, told Out to
Launch: “AI worked for us because we have a message, not a product, and we designed the campaign concept plays to play to its strengths — introduce a scenario that was strange and
unsettling. We could push for the most extreme thumb-stopping visual metaphors of danger.
"We used it to get parents attention with metaphors that make them think — probably most for the
first time — that tech in schools is also dangerous if left unchecked. Awareness has finally reached critical mass.”

TLC's site is an educational resource that highlights ed tech
harm, including inappropriate content, cyberbullying, privacy concerns and health struggles. It also helps parents advocate for safe tech use in schools and connects them with resources and legal
support at the Ed Tech Law Center.
“Most parents assume that devices provided by schools are safe, and that has proven to be untrue,” said TLC co-founder Rose Bronstein.
“Children are being given insufficiently protected adult devices to learn from — and the results are devastating.”
TLC cites terrifying stats: The FBI estimates 500,000
predators are active online daily. A national study by Common Sense found one-third of all teens are exposed to pornography to during the school day — many gaining access on school devices.
“After finding a self-harm video being promoted to my 8-year-old on her school-issued device, I knew I had to do something. All children deserve to be safe at school, and parents have a right
to know what, and who, they may be interacting with online,” added TLC co-founder Nikki Reisberg, host of the scrolling2death podcast.
