IPG Selected For Paramount+ US Media Duties

Earlier this week word surfaced that Paramount was moving most of its global media account from longstanding incumbent WPP Media.

And how long do I have to keep saying FKA GroupM? A month? Two months? A month for every year the company was named GroupM? That would be 22 months. Probably not that long.

Anyway, most of the business is going to Publicis but one piece that isn’t is the U.S. Paramount+ business, which has been handled by Horizon Media. But it looks like that business is shifting as well, most likely to IPG Mediabrands. Hollywood trade publication Deadline, which broke the story earlier this week, speculated that was the case.

No one will go on record because Paramount has told everyone not to talk about it.

One source familiar with the situation said the shift of the Paramount+ business to IPG has not been finalized.

What that usually means is that an initial agreement has been struck but that a contract hasn’t been signed yet. It’s possible the deal could fall through. Stranger things have happened. But it’s unlikely.
