Taika Waititi Directs Disney's 'Best Ever' Christmas Campaign

Disney is prepped for the coming season. It has just debuted "A Disney Holiday Short: Best Christmas Ever," directed by Oscar winner Taika Waititi.

The story focuses on a little girl and her doodle, which comes to life after Santa mistakes the drawing for a holiday wish. John Goodman voices Doodle.

The creative streams on Disney+ and YouTube, part of the campaign for Disney's “Make Someone's Holiday Magic.” In addition, on Nov. 12, Disney invites fans to create their own magic in Times Square. Submit a doodle using a QR code and watch your art appear on a billboard.

Adam&eveDDB is the lead agency behind the short film and OOH activation.

“What makes this story uniquely Disney is that it's set in the world of a kid and her new best friend, navigating the complex world together — and doing it just with the power of friendship and imagination,” said Waititi.

Waititi has directed other Disney efforts, including Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,”and “Thor: Love and Thunder” and Searchlight Pictures’ “Jojo Rabbit.”

The agency's client work also includes Quorn, Volkswagen, Columbia Sportswear and Lipton.
