Lucid Expands Brand Recognition On 'The View'

Whoopi Goldberg is showing  Lucid Motors some serious love.

The actress turned talk show pundit bought a Lucid Gravity for her birthday and she loved the electric vehicle so much that she gave one away to an audience member on “The View.”

Goldberg and the winner sat in the vehicle’s “frunk,” or front truck storage area, which the automaker has turned into comfortable seating.

While Goldberg isn’t an official "brand ambassador," she is a “fervent supporter” of the Lucid brand, says Akerho “AK” Oghoghomeh, senior vice president of marketing at Lucid.

“In working with her to select the right vehicle for her needs, she recognized an opportunity to show her excitement and expand Lucid’s brand recognition with a segment on ‘The View’ during her 70th birthday celebration,” Oghoghomeh says. “Whoopi was incredible to work with and her energy during the segment was authentic, and we were beyond excited to be able to give a lucky member of the audience a Lucid Gravity SUV.”

"The View" over-indexes with women which is meaningful for Lucid, he says.

“The EV segment today is still predominantly male, and within that, we currently under-index with women buyers: about 25% of our customers are women, compared to roughly 33% for the overall EV category,” Oghoghomeh tells Marketing Daily. “We see that not as a challenge, but as a significant opportunity.”

Gravity was engineered to meet the needs of a wide range of drivers, and many of its core attributes resonate strongly with women and families, he says.

Automotive pundit Jason Cammisa dubbed Gravity the “Ultimate Mommy Missile.”

“While it’s a fun label, it speaks to something real: Gravity combines performance, safety, versatility, and comfort in a way that’s rare in the segment,” Oghoghomeh says.

Lucid vehicles offer safety tech like standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and available hands-free driving. It delivers comfort features such as massage seats for long school-pickup lines, and it’s a true 7-passenger SUV with thoughtful touches like second row tray tables and adaptable seating.

“Parents immediately see real-world value in all of these features, whether it’s working on the go or handling those baby-changing moments in the frunk,” Oghoghomeh says. “That’s why appearing on ‘The View’ made so much sense. Whoopi’s authenticity, the show’s cultural reach, and Gravity’s design and features all align to introduce Lucid to more women who are shaping EV adoption and redefining what a modern family SUV can be.”
