Dentsu has sold its former
headquarters building in Tokyo, an iconic structure known as the Ginza Building, seen as a symbol of the firm’s post-war growth.
The company constructed the property in 1933 and it
served as its headquarters until 1967 when it moved to larger facilities. It relocated again in 2002 to a skyscraper that the firm constructed in
the Shiodome district in Tokyo. Dentsu sold that property in 2021 but continues to
occupy it under a long-term lease.

Neither the sales price nor the buyer of the Ginza Building was disclosed, but Dentsu did say it would realize a gain of more than $200
million on the transaction, which is expected to be finalized on January 30, 2026.
The company said the sale was part of its “asset optimization” strategy.
