Lindsey Vonn’s crash and injury to her left
knee during a World Cup downhill race Jan. 30 has only heightened the suspense around the 41-year-old skiing icon’s planned Winter Olympics comeback from a prior injury to her right
knee.
With Vonn still scheduled to compete in one Olympics event Feb.8, and two more during the Games’ first week, she posted on Instagram that “My Olympic dream is not
over….If there’s one thing, I know how to do, it’s a comeback.”
Rest assured that Vonn is getting plenty of medical attention -- and that she appreciates it.
Indeed, that’s the theme of a new campaign from healthcare apparel brand Figs, which will go on as scheduled during the games. Figs is the official outfitter of Team USA’s medical
team.
In the campaign, Vonn thanks -– and co-stars with -- the medical team that got her back on the competitive slopes after she had retired in 2019 and had knee replacement surgery in
2024. The cast includes not only her orthopedic surgeon, but a nurse practitioner, physical therapist, acupuncturist. and mental health coach.

They all appear with Vonn in a :60 spot created with the Mother agency that will run across NBC linear and streaming services. Other video configurations include :30, :15 and
:07 cutdowns.
The healthcare providers also all sport uniforms from the limited-edition Figs Team USA scrubs collection, which is being sold both online and at Figs brick-and-mortar
stores in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York. Houston and Chicago.
Los Angeles and Philadelphia, sites of the first-ever Figs locations, are also getting out-of-home placements during
the games, Figs CMO Bené Eaton tells Marketing Daily.
Eaton says the campaign is targeting both healthcare providers and the general public by honoring “our core community
of healthcare professionals while inviting everyone to recognize and appreciate the expertise, dedication and innovation these awesome humans bring to their work every day.”
“Through Lindsey Vonn’s comeback,” she says, Figs is “sharing the essential role that healthcare professionals play, not only in elite sports, but in communities
everywhere.”
Vonn, who won both Gold and Bronze Medals at the 2010 games, and another Bronze in 2018, would become the oldest downhill skier in Olympics history if she competes as
scheduled next week.
