The latest campaign from Aviation Gin has a special guest
star—and it’s not Ryan Reynolds.
The gin’s actor/producer co-owner does of course star in the ads, but he has a new sidekick: a bartending robot.
The new
ads promote Aviation Cranberry & Blood Orange Flavored Gin, the brand’s first flavored gin since it launched over 20 years ago. The new flavor is described as “juicy cranberry
and bold blood orange with Aviation's signature botanical profile… that makes at-home cocktailing effortless.”
"The combination of Aviation's signature gin with tart cranberry and
citrus-forward blood orange offers cocktail elevation while remaining easy to enjoy," said said Ricky Collett, gin category marketing directorat Diageo, in a press release.

video ad, seen here, Reynolds' voiceover describes how “innovation is at the heart of everything we do,” while showing an empty
Aviation bottle with random high-tech stock images flashing across the screen. Reynolds introduces “Avo, a state of the art robotic humanoid engineered to be your home mixologist.” As the
robot proceeds to prepare cocktails badly (it appears he cannot see through his costume), spilling gin and breaking glasses, Reynolds says “and when the robot turned out to obviously be a person
in a suit, we innovated again.” The new gin is the reveal, as Reynolds appears on screen saying, “it makes amazing cocktails practically by itself.”

the heart of what we do. That's true despite the fact that until today we have not really changed our product at all,” said Reynolds in the press release. "I am so proud of our first actual
innovation."
The campaign is running on Aviation’s social platforms.
